Key Ingredients
Vitex agnus-castus
Also known as chaste tree berry, Vitex has been used in ancient medicine to support breast tenderness, menstrual cramps and mood changes associated with PMS. Vitex has been shown to support PMS symptoms, irregular cycles, fertility and ovulation in a number of clinical trials and is considered to be the queen of botanical extracts for hormonal health and fertility.
Ashwagandha
Sensoril® Ashwagandha extract has been clinically studied for its benefits for stress, sleep, mood, energy, and focus. This patented extract is standardised to contain 10% withanolide content. Withanolides are the active components of Ashwaghanda that give it its mood supporting and stress reducing benefits.
Zinc
Zinc is a crucial nutrient for ovulation. It is intimately involved in the maturation and function of an egg and research shows that zinc deficiency can inhibit ovulation and block the growth of healthy follicles. We use zinc gluconate beause it is the most studied form of zinc and has been shown to be more readily absorbed by the body than other forms of zinc.
Zaffronel® STD Saffron Extract
Saffron has been traditionally used for thousands of years for its ability to support mental health challenges. Zaffronel® is a patented saffron extract that is safe to take alongside mental health medications and has been studied in clinical trials for its brain soothing benefits.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D3 is the active form of vitamin D known to support mental health, immunity and bone health. We use Vitamin D3 due to its greater effectiveness, potency and ability to stay in the blood stream longer than vitamin D2.
Iodine
Iodine is an essential mineral - meaning our bodies cannot make it and we need to ingest it to maintain our health and wellbeing. Iodine is essential for cognitive function, thyroid hormone production, breast health, energy & hormonal wellbeing.

Period Pal’s winning combination of Vitex, Ashwagandha, Atlantic Kelp and Zinc help ensure your ovaries are set up to thrive for healthy ovulation and progesterone production. Plus, Ginkgo Biloba and Zinc supports PMS symptoms such as acne, bloating and water retention, breast tenderness and swelling, weight gain and headaches.
Is Better Together: PMS suitable for vegans?
Unfortunately not! The Vitamin D in Happy Hours is sourced from Lanolin, which is derived from sheep wool. Period Pal is vegan and vegetarian friendly.
I’m pregnant or breastfeeding, can I use Better Together: PMS?
Sorry Evies, this one is a no. Neither, Period Pal or Happy Hours are recommended during these phases. Please do reach out to your healthcare provider for support with mental health during these important phases.
Is Period Pal contraindicated with any medications?
If you're on any medications, please check with your healthcare professional prior to using this product. We don’t recommend using Period Pal if you are using thyroid medication. We also don’t recommend Period Pal to be used in conjunction with chemotherapy medications or for those with cancer. If you are using Talinolol, any anti-seizure medications or have a history of epilepsy we’d recommend checking with your Doctor before use. If you have an allergy to nightshades, Period Pal isn’t for you because it contains ashwagandha; which is a nightshade.
Is Happy Hours contraindicated with any medications?
We specifically formulated Happy Hours to be safe to use alongside antidepressants and/or anti anxiety medications, just be sure to take Happy Hours at least 2 hours apart from medications. If you're on any other medications, please check with your healthcare professional prior to using this product.
I’m trying to conceive. Should I take Better Together: PMS?
Period Pal is great for supporting fertility as it nourishes the ovaries and supports healthy egg development and ovulation. As is the case with many powerful herbs, there isn’t much research on Vitex and Ginkgo Biloba in pregnant and breastfeeding women so if or when you find out you are pregnant, simply stop taking Period Pal and Happy Hours and switch to a quality prenatal. If you are undergoing IVF or IUI we don’t recommend Period Pal or Happy Hours.
I’ve just come off hormonal contraception (eg the pill) should I take Better Together: PMS?
It's best to wait 2-3 months after coming off hormonal contraception (such as the pill, rod, Mirena and Depo injection) before starting Period Pal. In the meaning we recommend nourishing your body with Better Together: On Birth Control to replenish your stores of key vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and probiotics.
Can my teenage daughter use Better Together: PMS?
Period Pal is recommended for those 18+. If your teen is experiencing irregular periods, PMS symptoms or other hormonal issues this may simply be their body calibrating to its new requirement to run a monthly hormonal cycle, which can last all through their teens. Happy Hours by itself is great option to start with, it is safe for ages 12+. If they are experiencing cystic acne, extremely heavy bleeding or life-impacting cramping we’d recommend visiting a doctor.
